Burberry Goddess Layering Combinations

What works underneath a vanilla that is already doing a lot on its own.

Updated 14 August 2026 · 5 min read · Scent Layering Lab editors

What to layer with Burberry Goddess

Burberry Goddess is a vanilla with lavender at the top and cocoa in the base — which means it is already a layered composition. Treat it as a finish, never as a middle layer, and keep whatever sits underneath quiet.

It also projects. If your usual number of sprays is three, two is right here, and one is right in summer.

Goddess already has cocoa in the base. A trace of Choco Musk underneath makes that note obvious instead of hidden.

Musk sits between the sugar and the perfume and stops the vanilla from reading like a bakery. This is the combination most people mean when they say a scent smells expensive.

What to layer, ranked

  1. 01

Plain vanilla lotion — best all-round

Extends the wear and reinforces the vanilla without introducing a new note. The safest option and the cheapest.

  2. 02

A trace of cocoa oil — for winter

Goddess already has cocoa in the base. A very small amount underneath brings that note forward instead of leaving it buried under the lavender.

  3. 03

White musk oil — to soften it

If Goddess reads too sweet on you, musk underneath pulls it towards a skin scent. This is the fix for people who like the dry-down but not the first hour.

  4. 04

    Another designer perfume — avoid

Goddess is dense enough that a second full fragrance has nowhere to sit. The result is not richer, just louder.

Frequently asked

Vanilla in three forms, with lavender at the opening and cocoa and ginger in the base. Creamy rather than sugary, and strong.

Not comfortably. Her is fruity and Goddess is a dense vanilla; the berries turn jammy against that much sweetness.

One to two. It projects strongly and lasts well past a working day on most skin.
